AMUSE-BOUCHE, ANATOMY OF A LUNCH
Based in Paris, Heidi Fleisher (producer and co-director) freelances for several documentary film production companies, as both a producer and director of international development. Her work gravitates around creative documentaries with an independent editorial approach that have a social and/or political impact.
Lionel Brouet (director) directs documentary films for TV broadcast and DVD, including 8-BIT GENERATION, FESTIVAL IN THE DESERT, LO’JO, and SACRED DRUMS. He also works with the French channels Canal+ and ARTE as a video journalist. For the last several years, he has created video programs around major music festivals for the web, mobile phones and podcasts.

Jorien van Nes (director) has worked with the national broadcasting company VPRO since 1997, writing and directing scenarios for several episodes of VPRO’s experimental and documentary series. Last year she directed her first 50' drama-production LEUK VOOR LATER. In her search for stories, she finds them bordering between real and unreal. Jorien experiments in making reality fiction and fiction documentary.
Led by Femke Wolting and Bruno Felix, Submarine is an Amsterdam-based production company specializing in documentary and new media productions. Submarine explores new and lively forms of visual language to push the boundaries of nonfiction filmmaking. In addition, Submarine aims to develop and realize cross-media formats that combine the representational richness of film and the immersive quality of television with the interactivity and openness of the Internet.
COCK-A-DOODLE-DO
Amlan Datta (director, producer) is an independent filmmaker and producer based in Kolkata. A painter, photographer and visual artist, Amlan studied cinematography in the premier film school of India, FTII, Pune. He and his brother Anirban are currently in production with the documentary IN. FOR MOTION in association with the BBC and YLE Finland.
DIVINE FOOD
Born in Santiago, Chile, Marcela Said graduated from the Catholic University with a degree in Aesthetics & Philosophy, specialized in art video and experimental cinema. She is known for her controversial documentaries that elicit important critical dialogue. In 2000, she directed the award-winning documentary I LOVE PINOCHET, a portrait of Pinochet's followers. OPUS DEI: A SILENT CRUSADE (2006) is her latest documentary, directed with Jean de Certeau; it is a journey into the heart of one of the most secretive groups of the Catholic Church.
HUNGRY FOR FREEDOM
Gef Senz (writer, director) is a lawyer, musician, sound engineer and documentary filmmaker. With a Graduate Diploma in Film & Television (Documentary) from the Victorian College of the Arts, Gef has written, directed, edited and produced a number of short documentaries including TRANSFORMERS–THE ART OF CIRCUIT BENDING, BURMESE KITCHEN and POOL COMP. His extensive experience as a musician and sound engineer naturally makes sound design a crucial element in Gef's documentaries.
Born in Yangoon, Burma, Maung Maung Aye (co-writer, animator) has resided in Melbourne, Australia since 1995. Not only is he is the owner and operator of the Burmese Kitchen restaurant in North Fitzroy, he is also an experienced and resourceful animator, specializing in stop motion claymation and computer based 2-D Flash animation. Maung Maung’s animated short films include BRASSKATEERS; GEORGE, PICK ON YOUR OWN SIZE; and BURMESE KITCHEN.

THE POWER OF CHILLIES
Creators of Les Yeux dans les Yeux Production, Serge Ferrand and Natalie Glanville-Wallis are a complementary team, full of energy and enthusiasm, sharing a passion for documentaries. Based in the south of France, Serge is producer and cameraman, Natalie writer-director and editor. In 2007, they produced SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE, a 52’ documentary on the Tibetans exiled in India and their struggle to maintain their identity in the face of indifference from the rest of the world.

TLALA
Khalo Matabane is an award-winning filmmaker whose films about South Africa have brought him both national and international acclaim. Khalo has directed a number of films, including the documentaries TWO DECADES STILL (1996), THE WAITERS (1997), YOUNG LIONS (1999) and STORY OF A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY (2004). His first feature film is CONVERSATIONS ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON (2005). At MIPDOC 2006, Khalo was acknowledged as an "International Trailblazer."

WANTED
Olaf de Fleur Johannesson (director, producer) has been a dedicated filmmaker for over a decade. He founded his own independent production company, Poppoli Pictures, in 2003. For BLINDSKER, he won the ‘Best Documentary Feature’ award at the Icelandic Film Awards in 2004, and he won the award again in 2005 for ARFICA UNITED. He has just finished his first feature film QUEEN RAQUELA to be released in January 2008. Soon to follow is his second feature THE HIGHER FORCE starring an ensemble Icelandic and international cast.
